It's That Time Of Year Again...Back To School!

I'm not sure how it happened so fast, but the kiddos started school again yesterday. I don't know how school calendars have evolved over the years, but I feel like my kids are getting ripped off with only a 2-month summer break. Didn't we old futs get a full 3 months off in our day?! Of course I can't tell them this, or I'd just get more whining about having to go back to school so early! As much as I tried to pump them up for a new school year with new teachers and for Kea, a new school site, no one was falling for it. They didn't buy my fake excitement, because let's be real. I'm not super stoked on it either. School means homework and deadlines for moms and dads, too...waking up early, getting kids dressed, fed, teeth brushed, snacks and lunches packed - all on a schedule! I managed to get everyone ready on time, and even attempted one of those cutesy "first day of school" pics with a pencil sign that I bought at Target. Extra mom points for customizing the sign for each kid, but mom fail for only getting 2 out of 3 kids to take a pic before rushing out the door.

If I had a nickel for every time I tried to get a decent pic of my kids, I'd be rich by now.

I'm going to have to dress Kea up in his first-day-of-school outfit when he's in the mood to take a pic, and one day we will laugh at my determination to get the damn picture.

I managed to get semi-decent pics of the kids when they were done goofing around.

All in all, the first day for all 3 munchkins was great. No one got lost and no one cried, so I'd call it a success!

**UPDATE: I got Kea to take a picture!! Fist pump!!
